With a combination of 25 years of experience in the South African Police Services (14 years) and Marketing and Fundraising for the Kloof and Highway SPCA (11 years) I have developed across-the-board knowledge about many of the various social evils, welfare concerns and crimes that affect our communities and have established a set of skills that can generate the relevant awareness to inspire individuals to make a difference.
Non-profit Organizations all across South Africa have taken upon themselves the responsibility to care for their communities and provide services in the upliftment of vulnerable people, animals and the environment.
The communities they serve benefit in immeasurable ways as without these Non-Profit Organizations and the valuable work they do - the future for South Africa would be devastating.

There is no better way to shop than knowing your spend will go to a worthy cause.
The Social Cause Shared Charity Shop has taken this one step further by collaborating with four Durban-based charities.
The Jes Foord Foundation, Bobbi Bear, Baby Hope House and the Kloof and Highway SPCA are sharing a charity shop in Pinetown to raise much-needed funds for their organisation.
“Every day the staff at these NPOs face tragedy, abandonment, severe trauma, pain and suffering and they work extremely hard in the face of huge challenges.”
“They provide support, comfort and care to restore the lives of women and children who have been raped, orphaned babies and unwanted, sick and abused animals.
It is unfortunate that these NPOs have to battle to source the funding needed to focus on their core functions,” She said fund-raising had become increasingly difficult and that during the trying times residents have needed to tighten their belts and were no longer able to support causes close to their hearts with cash donations.
“However, we appeal to the community to bring along their donations of unwanted items including clothing, shoes, jewellery, hair accessories, women’s toiletries to hand bags, toys, cushions, household ornaments, kitchenware and DVDs. We can then turn these items into the funds needed,” said Barbara.
Each of the charities filter through their donated goods to be sold and are marked with coloured stickers.
Bobbi Bear goods are red, SPCA is blue, Baby Hope House is yellow and Jes Foord items are green.
Once the utilities have been paid, each organisation will receive 80 per cent of the funds made through the sale of its goods.
Donated goods that are not assigned to benefit a specific charity will be marked with a white sticker. This means that your item, when it is sold, will be split equally among the four organisations.
